Message from the Principals
Welcome to Highlands Elementary School! Highlands is one of 17 elementary schools in the Appleton Area School District. Its doors opened in the fall of 1967. Currently, our enrollment is near 710 students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade. When our students leave sixth grade they attend Wilson Middle School and then move on to Appleton West High School.

Highlands has been very fortunate to have a strong history of meeting the needs of all children. In 1967 when it was built, it focused on meeting the needs of students with Special Needs and now we continue to make history each day by collaborating as a team, implementing best practice and focusing on what each child needs. The students are our priority! It is our job to teach the whole child so we focus on academic, social/emotional, and lifelong skills and we don’t do that alone.  We work as one team – staff, parent and student.

We are looking forward to working with your children and helping them grow. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. The school phone number is (920) 852-5480.
